Throughout life, there are moments that redefine us—times we look back and think, “I can’t fathom my life before this.” For many women, that moment is motherhood. For Devin, it happened not once—but twice.
Devin first came to our Monroeville center feeling overwhelmed and unsure. She had just learned she was pregnant and was deeply concerned—about paternity, finances, and whether she could do this alone. Abortion felt like the only way forward.
But during her early appointments, Devin was met with compassion, truth, and time to process. As the reality of motherhood sank in, she made the brave decision to choose life. With the help of our team and the generosity of Let Them Live—who stepped in to cover six months of rent—Devin welcomed her son Houston into the world. He became her light, her purpose, her joy. She told us, “I can’t believe I ever considered not having him. He’s the most precious part of my life.”
Months later, she returned—pregnant again.
This time, she was embarrassed. “I thought I’d be married the next time I got pregnant,” she admitted. Still, she spoke with love and hope about the supportive man in her life who had embraced both her and Houston.
But after that first visit, Devin went silent. She didn’t say whether she planned to carry—and our team, who had walked so closely with her before, feared the worst.
Still, we kept reaching out. Inviting. Praying.
And then the message came: Devin had given birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl named Phoenix.
She returned to the center—radiant, grateful, full of joy. “I’m happier than I’ve been in years,” she told us, beaming as she placed her daughter in the arms of the staff who had prayed for her.
Devin’s story is a powerful reminder that transformation often begins in moments of fear—and that when a woman is given truth, time, and love, she can choose life with courage. Today, she’s the proud mother of two, still navigating challenges—but no longer alone.
We ask for your continued prayers over Devin, her partner, and their growing family. We are believing with her that marriage is in their future. May the Lord guide their steps, bless their bond, and continue to cover them in His grace.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
