“A Different Path” — Mila’s Story of Questions, Courage, and New Life

Mila came to us in January 2025, twelve weeks pregnant. When she first found out she was expecting, she went to Planned Parenthood — but that visit revealed something she wasn't anticipating… She was carrying twins. Shocked, Mila left and came to us soon after.

She was confused and unsure what to do. In her early 20s with three children already under the age of six, Mila was facing serious challenges. The father of the babies was in jail. She was living in a difficult home situation and juggling the responsibility of supporting her mom, her brother, and her own kids. During her early pregnancy consultation, she expressed that she wanted to parent but was still on the fence.

Later that month, she returned to our center for another conversation and learned about our Save Unborn Life program, which helps moms with financial responsibilities if they choose life for their baby. Excited by the possibility of tangible support, she signed the contract.

For a while, we lost touch. In February and March, she missed some appointments — until she finally came in for birth mapping. During that visit, Mila shared that she had almost gone through with an abortion. She had gone as far as having the rods placed in her cervix but, at the last moment, told them to stop. “It just felt wrong to make a decision that could alter or stop someone’s life,” she said.

When the twins arrived earlier than expected, Mila couldn’t make it to her scheduled Early Infant Care appointment. She gave birth to a healthy little boy and girl, though her daughter needed to spend time in the NICU. Both babies were doing well, and so was Mila.

A generous donor gave her $500, and we sent her groceries to help with the transition. She even came in for a one-on-one support class with the father of the babies. Soon after, she sent us beautiful photos of her twins, verifying their births — and when Save Unborn Life surprised her with a $6,000 gift, she was in tears, feeling blessed beyond words.

Today, Mila is still in touch with our team. The father of the babies is communicating with our male volunteers, and Mila is grateful for every bit of support she’s received. Her little girl is now home, and she’s received additional help from a donor to start counseling.

Mila’s journey is a testimony of hope, courage, and the power of community. Because of your generosity, two precious lives were saved — and a young mother was given the chance to see the beauty of choosing life.
