From Near Loss to New Life — Diya’s Journey

When Diya first walked into our center in December 2024, our staff quickly sensed she was extremely vulnerable to choosing abortion. She shared openly that she had already experienced two prior abortions—and fully intended to end this pregnancy as well.

During her ultrasound, it was confirmed that she was already 18 weeks along. Diya wasn’t surprised; she admitted she had known for some time. Her reason for coming was not to explore her options—it was simply to confirm whether she could still have an abortion.

But there was another voice in her story—the father of the baby. He made it clear that he wanted the child and was prepared to raise the baby himself. When he told his mother, she was overjoyed and promised to help care for the baby.

Diya’s main hesitation was one we sadly hear all too often: she feared the baby would “get in the way” of her life. This perspective—seeing children as a burden rather than a blessing—is a reflection of the cultural climate we are called to speak truth into every day.

Despite the tension in their relationship, we were able to encourage Diya and the father to attend Early Infant Care and Birth Mapping sessions together. Gradually, with the steady encouragement of the baby’s father and grandmother, Diya chose life for her child.

In April, she gave birth to a healthy baby. Mother, father, and baby are all doing well physically—but their relationship remains fragile.

We are asking for prayer:Lord, heal the emotional wounds between Diya and the father of her child. Restore their bond, strengthen their commitment to one another, and remind them of the joy and love they once shared. May their child grow up surrounded by unity, peace, and grace.

"For You created my in most being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." — Psalm 139:13–14
