Backed into a corner. That’s how “Sarah” felt two weeks ago. Her boyfriend of seven months had become more and more unstable and hot tempered. She admitted that she was fearful of future violence and was wisely making efforts to distance herself from the threat of abuse. When Sarah began to sense symptoms of pregnancy, she took a test at home. And the positive test result was crushing. She felt that the news of a pregnancy would send her boyfriend into a rage. The abortion pill seemed like the only solution and was so easy to access. But, like so many women, in the moments after taking the first pill, Sarah knew that she had done something terribly wrong. She looked online for a remedy and found an abortion pill reversal (APR) website which led her to our Monroeville Center.
There’s something about APR that is especially intense. We meet a mom who knows that, because of her actions, her tiny baby is about to die and is now desperate to save his or her life. Proverbs 24:11-12 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?” Our ultrasound reveals a tiny baby who has been scheduled for death, staggering toward slaughter. This is the center of the target—the most vulnerable to abortion.
The simple abortion pill reversal protocol restored progesterone to Sarah’s baby in time to save his or her life. Upon seeing a strong heartbeat on the ultrasound screen, Sarah melted into tears of joy and relief. Her baby was safe. While Sarah’s reasons for abortion have not changed, her support system has. Our amazing staff and volunteers will be caring for this mom-to-be through the Life Support program for months and years to come.
Thank you for your gift that helps us provide this amazing way to save lives and transform families.
Joyfully,
Amy Scheuring, Executive Director
